Sometimes you find that you gravitate towards one brand for a lot of your baby needs, it’s not intentional but a natural evolution between what you need as a (new) mum and what that brand provides. For us that’s certainly true of Britax (parent company of Safe-n-Sound & Steelcraft), from baby walker to high chair, pram to car seat, Britax products feature heavily in our lives.
As a new mum I researched (extensively) before choosing a product to use with my long-awaited baby and while design and function both played a large role in helping me sift through the multitude of options available safety was my primary concern and often the deciding factor when committing to a purchase – especially when it came to a car seat. Nobody plans to have a crash but they do happen and car safety for children has come a long way since my parents brought me home in a basinet on the back seat.
We brought Dexter home in his Steelcraft Strider DLX car capsule, a travel system I bought for its form, function and safety rating. I never wanted a capsule but got a good deal and found it so handy in the early days when I could get out and about without having to transfer a sleeping baby to and from the car. Unfortunately though, I had a tall little man and he very quickly outgrew the capsule before he even got close to the weight limit which prompted another search and led to the purchase of a Safe-n-Sound Meridian AHR Tilt & Adjust.
I love the Meridian, not only is it consistently performing at the top of safety and consumer guides, the innovative Tilt and Adjust™ technology makes it super easy to use and adjust as your child grows – there’s no pulling the seat out and re-threading straps, to adjust the height you simply tilt the headrest, adjust the height and the straps safely reposition. The AHR stands for Active Head Restraint™ which is a headrest made from impact absorbing foam that can be easily adjusted as your child grows and is designed to contain and protect your child’s head in a side impact crash. The seat is super safe and looks super comfortable for your little one to sit in; it converts from rearward facing to forward facing and will fit newborns to 4 year olds (approx).
A few weeks ago we decided to upgrade the Meridian in hubby’s car. Dexter still fits in this seat and I dare say it would last him a while longer but he is a tall boy and does look more comfortable in my car (which sports a Maxi-Rider AHR). We decided to pass the Meridian on to mum and look for another convertible booster seat, something that would last us until the end of his car seat days.
Designed to fit children from 6 months to 8 years (approx), the Maxi-Rider AHR is a wonderful seat for those looking to ensure the safety of their precious cargo. Dexter loves this seat, he adores having the cup holders to pop his drink, snacks or toys into, the pivoting armrests make it easy to get him in and out of the seat, he’s super independent these days and very into doing things it “all myself” and the pivoting armrests make it easier for him to climb in and out of the seat too.
Speakers in the headrest, a feature that I have to admit I didn’t really think we’d ever use, have been an absolute godsend on long car journeys – we just plug them into the DVD player, tablet or iPod, he’s happy watching or listening to children’s shows or music and we’re happy that we don’t have to hear it! It’s genius, it really is.
The Maxi-Rider AHR has an excellent safety record, it’s got that fabulous AHR (Active Head Restraint™) technology I mentioned before which means that even in booster mode your child has superior protection during a side impact crash, in booster seat mode it has the exclusive Slideguard clip which means the lap sash is positioned correctly over the hips and thighs at all times, preventing your child from sliding forward during a crash and the Safe-n-Sound child seat manufacturing processes are the most stringent in Australia.
It’s an economical seat too – my sister also had the Strider DLX capsule for her little one and when it was time to move to a bigger seat my niece went straight into a Maxi-Rider AHR which will last her until she is out of a car seat.

I love the Eclipse Terrain 3 wheel stroller, so easy to manouver, compact, lightweight and looks great. Having the Maxi-Rider AHR would make a huge different to our travelling from Melbourne to Adelaide to visit family, the kids would be so much more comfortable when they are sleeping, making Mummy and Daddy relaxed for the drive!

My absoloute favourite Britax product is the Tilt and Adjust, we have had one since birth for my son and he is now 3 and still we love it! We recently bought a MaxiRider AHR for my four and a half year old and I would love to get one for my four month old (for when she turns six months) as I worry as the seat she is in now is quite old and the technology/safety advances have changed so much and continue to improve

The AHR maxri rider has changed my life since I got it for my 3yo daughter after she out grew her old safe n sound car seat. So much more comfortable for her and easier to get her in and out of. She thinks the cup holders and armrests are the most exciting things ever. I could really do with another one for the impending new arrival.
My fav is the tilt and adjust, a bit more freedom and comfort and no need for me to keep turning around !!

AGILE TWIN FOREST is what i adore best. As a mummy of twins a double pram is a must and this one is a must at less than 12 kgs!

Theres nothing worse than an upset bubba on a long trip on the car. The carseat is key to a great trip and the Maxi- rider AHR is nothing less than the best.
My little (not so little) man is only 2.5 but a big and tall boy for his age , it is very hard to find a comfortable whilst the safest car seat on the market.

I love the safety of the Meridian AHR Tilt & Adjust Car Seat.
Installing the Maxi-Rider would mean that as my son gets a little older, we won’t have to move the Meridian between cars each time my husband needs the bigger car.

Favourite product is this one cos it doesn’t take up the whole back seat or look like it came from a $2 shop. Plus it gets a great safety and ease of use rating from the RTA. Our 6 month old is shooting up like a beansprout and is too big for her current seat. This will stop her from giving me that “WTF Mum?!” look everytime I squeeze her in to her seat.

The Safe-n-Sound Maxi-Rider AHR would be just perfect for my 2.5 year old.. she is getting just a bit big for her old safe n sound seat, but not quite big enough for the normal booster… This seat would fit her perfectly as she is little and I would feel safer knowing how well she is protected.. We have always had safe n sound seats and wouldn’t buy anything else..

My favourite product from Britax is the Steelcraft Strider Plus 4. It was found to be one of the safest double prams on the market by CHOICE magazine, and I think it is the only one with an anti-tilt feature. When I worked in a children’s clothing store there were so many unbalanced prams – and so many of them tipped! – so very frightening for everyone.
a Maxi-Rider AHR would bring peace of mind that our kids have the best protection available, and they could sleep comfortably, or listen to audio books when awake

Agile Plus Travel System is my favourite from the Britax range. I love the way Maxi-Rider AHR is designed to fit children from 6 months to 8 (!!!) years, such a long time! Not many seats can do that!

My favourite would have to be the Agile Travel System stroller and the infant carriers. My son is quite tall for his age and the Maxi-rider AHR is one of the tallest seats on the market. It also goes from 18months to 7 years which is fantastic!
I love the Maxi Rider AHR. I’ve had one since my daughter was newborn. With Baby no. 2 on the way, I need to upgrade to the AHR tilt and adjust!

Safe-n-Sound Maxi-Rider AHR convertible booster seat is my favourite product.the Maxi-rider AHR is one of the tallest seats on the market, very handy for my almost 4 year old who is quite tall for her age, It also goes from 18months to 7 years which is great. i qould personally buy this seat for both my daughters (4 and 9months).

The maxi-rider would have to be my favorite product even though all of their products look great! My son Ryder would love the fact his sister is sitting in a seat with his name. She would feel safe and comfortable with both of her ‘Riders’

I like the maxi-rider AHR actually – we’re getting past a lot of the other products (like baby carriers!) and the maxi-rider is practical lasting for so long and having thigns like cup holders, arm rests and reclining options.
Having a Maxi-rider would keep my tall 3-year-old comfortable and proud of a big boy seat so would make drives more peaceful (and safe) from start to finish

The new Strider Compact, I have a strider and love it but a narrower design would be ideal.
We don’t have a car so never purchased a car seat but have found it would be convenient to own one at times and this one looks super comfy!

I love our Strider Plus pram and have also been very happy with our Meridian AHR seat.
The only real change would be having more room to grow in comfort. She’d be just as safe as she is in her Meridian, which is what matters most!

Favourite product – Britax BABY CARRIER MARINE BLUE. Safe-n-Sound Maxi-Rider AHR has so many great features, I guess the best is the Active Head Restraint, I wish I have that in our car seat.

I really like the Maxi Rider AHR, out of the seats (6 month – 8 year range) I looked at in the shop this one looked the most comfortable and also has a good safety rating as both a forward facing restraint AND booster seat. I would love to win one for darling child #2, our daughter falls asleep in it really easily (a big plus!) and sits slightly higher than in her other seat so has a great view. (less complaining!)

I love the Safe ‘n’ Sound Meridan AHR tilt and adjust carseat. My son is almost 6 months and we are still in the rear facing position. Very happy with it.
The Safe-n-Sound Maxi-Rider AHR convertible booster seat would be great when my son is a little older. He’s 95th percentile for height and is going to need this seat.
