[Closed] Win – Bosisto’s Lavender Pack

by Kyla on October 24, 2012 · 265 comments

Regular readers will know I love Bosisto’s products. Open pretty much any cupboard in my house and you’ll find something – clean, deodorise, disinfect, launder , treat, soothe and ease, it’s all taken care of by Bosisto’s in some way.

Until recently though I hadn’t tried the Lavender range – mainly because my allergies have allergies and I’m always super careful with anything perfume-y because I’d rather not spend the next hour sneezing until I look like a watery eyed Rudolph. Lavender, though, is all kinds of awesome. Known for its calming properties and gentle scent, lavender is also a natural deodoriser, antiseptic and insect repellent. Thankfully, to date I’ve had no adverse reaction to Bosisto’s Lavender, I wish I could say that for the outside in general at this time of year.

Lavender Oil has so may uses, I like to drop a little onto my wheat heat bag at the time of the month when I most need a little calm but it’s also good for helping to heal/disinfect insect bites, minor cuts & abrasions and of course it’s lovely in an oil burner to scent a room.

Dex has recently toilet trained (yay, yay, yay!) so our house no longer has the vague smell of gross that comes with having a child in nappies but I do like to freshen a room before bed and the Lavender Spray is fantastic for that. Bosisto’s Lavender products are made with 100% pure Lavendula angustifola, a premium grade lavender oil clinically proven to assist in relieving stress and promoting a peaceful night’s sleep so I’ve been spraying his room before the nightly battle begins to help calm not only the little boy who doesn’t want to sleep but also the mum or dad who has totally had enough.

Bosisto’s Lavender Solution is pure oil in a water soluble base that is just perfect for using around the home. I keep a spray bottle of the eucalyptus solution under the sink in the kitchen and have added another bottle so I can keep some of this at the ready too. It’s also easy to add into the wash to help deodorise or just add a lovely smell to your linen or towels. We washed our bedsheets with some solution and they smell so warm and comfortable – climbing into bed just smells sleepy.

Bosisto’s is available in Woolworths, Independent Supermarkets and Pharmacies, visit www.fgb.com.au for more information on stockists.

I have four fantastic prize packs to give away, each valued at $55 and containing: Bosisto’s Lavender Spray, Bosisto’s Lavender Solution, Bosisto’s Lavender Oil and a really handy booklet containing tips and tricks for using Lavender.
For your chance to win one of these packs simply comment here to tell me your favourite memory of lavender.

This giveaway ended on 25th November 2012.

My favourite memory of lavender is being at a lavender farm in Margaret River WA and as much as I was loving being there I was terrified as there was hundreds of bees and I am severely allergic.

My favourite memory of Lavender was the first time I used the oil to calm a monster headache that had me at screaming point. 10 minutes later I was resting much more peacefully.

My husband’s family and my family went to Lavender farm together. We had a great time and able to see purple fields. It was so beautiful. When I look at the lavender, it reminds me about the meaningful time that we spent with our families.

Grandma’s linen chest- she kept a bunch of dried lavender inside with her carefully pressed sheets. I was always a delight to sneak a peek inside and smell that scent of lavender.

My absolute fondest memory lavender is of time spent at the Lavender harvest festival at Hepburn Springs. I’ll never forget the scent and the large Monarch butterflies (I hadn’t seen these for years – they’re the bright orange and black ones that as kids we used to try and catch) fluttering around in the brightly dotted fields of lavender. It seems that lavender is one of their favourite foods!

As a little girl, in Nan’s enormous garden, all the borders and boundaries were lined with Lavender. And when they were in peak bloom, she’d send me out with a bucket & let me pull all the flower heads off & then we’d stuff them into stockings and dry them out. She’d then sew them into little hand embroidered cushions that she’d give as gifts or sell at the local craft market as pomanders.

Mum dabbing my pillow case or a hanky with Lavender oil, making me smell it to help cure a headache. Back then as a kid I thought it stunk to high heaven, and brought on headaches. Only of late have I grown to appreciate it’s benefits and adore the scent.

My favourite memory of lavender is when my Nanna used to have fresh and dried lavender throughout her house in spring/summer. Then she would dry them out and use the lavender inside drawer scents, to make the clothes smell so fresh. Now that she has passed away, I plant lavender bushes in her memory, and when flowering, have a vase of them all the time to remind me of her xx

I am a big lover of the Honeysnaps website, and find it hard to pick a favourite, and what I might buy first. I do love the red coral bracelet with rose detail, on the front page of the bracelets section at $12.95. It is gorgeous!

I remember Sunday lunch at my nanna’s, we walked down the path to the front door of her country cottage and brushed by the row of lavender bushes planted beside the path. When we stayed overnight with her,all the bedlinen smelled of lavender and has always been a favourite scent of mine!

Fav memory of lavender is hubby pinching fresh lavender while going for his walks! Finding it in his pockets and asking why? His answer he likes the smell!

Smelling the lavender bush in our garden for the first time age 25 after a jaw surgery that improved my sense of smell.

When I was a child my Mum went through a stage of making things for the local markets. She did flower arrangements, knitted toys and various felt things with lavender in them. My favourite was a little felt mouse with lavender for clothes drawers. It really was a cute little thing. I wonder if I could find a pattern for one online and try to make one myself…

My late Nanna would sprinkle it on her handkerchief, so now every time I smell lavender I think of Nanna.

I got a really bad cut on my hand one day when the knife I was using to cut a grey pumpkin slipped. Lots of blood and pain but I used pure lavender oil as first aid after the bleeding stopped and every day for a week. It healed incredibly quickly!

HI there! :-) My favourite memory of lavendar is either receiving as a gift from one of my past students a little wheat bag/patch that you placed over your eyes which was lavendar scented or after my dad discovered I had a lavendar scented little teddy bear that gave off a beautiful aroma and he asked if I could get him one too! :-)

My parents had lavender in the garden outside my room. I could smell the lavender in the breeze
